Tom Gilligan

Director, Hoover Institution on War, Revolution and Peace, Stanford University

In September 2015, Dr. Gilligan assumed the role of the Tad and Dianne Taube Director of the Hoover Institution. Previously, Dr. Gilligan was the tenth dean of the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. Prior to joining McCombs, he held several key positions at the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. He was the recipient of a National Fellowship at the Hoover Institution of War and Peace and was a staff economist at the Council of Economic Advisors in the White House under President Ronald Reagan. Dr. Gilligan earned his BA at the University of Oklahoma and his PhD in Economics at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
